Wildcats Sign Sack-Master Abdul-Wahid

by UFL Staff

ATLANTA, GA-- The Atlanta Wildcats have added an explosive sack master in former Chowan University defensive end Rafiq Abdul-Wahid. The Wildcats and Abdul-Wahid were able to come to terms on a 2-year agreement that will keep the pass rush specialist in Atlanta for the 2023 and 2024 seasons.

Abdul-Wahid would begin his four-year collegiate career with the Hawks in the fall of 2017. Starting with an outstanding freshman season, he would account for 20 tackles, 5.5 tackles for loss, and 1.5 sacks. The good times would continue for Abdul-Wahid as he entered his second season with the Hawks as he accounted for 30 tackles, 10.5 tackles for loss, and 7.5 sacks. After a strong sophomore campaign, Abdul-Wahid would only display dominance in his 2019 junior season with 51 tackles, 10.5 tackles for loss, and 4 sacks. Unfortunately, due to the worldwide health crisis of 2020, Chowan University football would not compete in 2020. But the sack master would be up to his old ways when football would resume during the fall of 2021, with Abdul-Wahid accounting for 38 tackles, 12 tackles for loss, and 8.5 sacks.

With the addition of Abdul-Wahid, the Wildcats have one of the premier pass rushers during the early signing period for UFL ball clubs. If the team can add a second bookend to pair with Abdul-Wahid, the Wildcats will make Saturdays difficult for opposing quarterbacks.

The Wildcats will begin their 2023 season on the road versus the Charleston Pirates. Season tickets are currently on sale for as low as $200 per seat. Fans are encouraged to visit atlantawildcats.net for details.
