Stampede Land QB Nelson
SAINT LOUIS, MO-- The quarterback position is most often the most challenging position to fill in pro football, yet the St. Louis Stampede believe they have landed their guy. The Stampede and free agent QB Dominic Nelson have agreed to terms on a two-year agreement. Financial details of the deal were not disclosed.
The St. Louis area native had an impressive prep career at East St. Louis High School. While at East St. Louis, as a running quarterback, Nelson would rush for over 4,000 and 50 touchdowns during his high school career.
During his collegiate career at the University of Missouri, Nelson would make the transition to defensive back. Being honored on several occasions for his attention to detail and hard work on the Tigers scout team.
With the Stampede, Nelson will transition back to the quarterback position, providing the team with an athletic dual-threat under center.
The Stampede will kick off the 2023 season on April 1st in St. Louis, hosting the Chicago Blue Bombers for a 7 PM start.
