Firehawks Find a Home Venue
ATLANTA, GA -- The Louisville Firebirds announced today that they will be relocating to Rochester, New York, and will be rebranded as the Rochester Firehawks for the upcoming 2023 season. The move comes as a result of ongoing negotiations with the stadium site in Rochester, which has been eager to bring a professional football team to the area.
"We are excited to announce our relocation to Rochester, and we look forward to becoming a part of this vibrant and passionate community," said UFL Commissioner Joe McClendon III. "We have been impressed by the level of support and enthusiasm we have received from local officials and fans, and we believe that Rochester is the perfect place for our team to grow and thrive."
The Firehawks will play home games at downtown Rochester's Community Sports Stadium. The stadium is one of the premier sports venues in the region and one of the finest venues within the UFL.
The Firehawks will be committed to supporting local initiatives and charities and becoming a beloved part of the city's sports culture.
The Firebirds will be holding a press conference in Rochester next month to introduce the team to the local community and media. Fans can stay up-to-date on all the latest news and developments by visiting the team's website and social media channels.
