
Bighorns Add Versatile Defender Nelson-Henton
HOUSTON, TX-- The Houston Bighorns announced on Monday that the team has signed former Houston Christian University defensive back Ari Nelson-Henton to a two-year contract.
The former Huskies' defensive back was born and raised in Houston, playing prep football at Kingwood Park High School in northeast Houston before earning a scholarship to Houston Christian University.
While at HCU, Nelson-Henton played in 10 games as a junior, making two tackles and blocking a kick. As a sophomore, he appeared in two games and added twelve tackles. As a freshman, Nelson-Henton appeared in the Huskies' final three games and made one tackle against both Incarnate Word and Texas College, with an additional four unassisted stops against Texas A&M-Commerce. During would closeout his collegiate career as a senior as a special team's terror and sub-package defensive back.
With the addition of Nelson-Henton, the Bighorns have added a solid defender with great size and speed with the versatility to play both the cornerback and safety positions.
