Former Arizona Wildcats, RB, Nathan Tilford

HOUSTON, TX-- The Houston Bighorns announced on Wednesday the signing of former University of Arizona and University of Texas at Permian Basin tailback Nathan Tilford. Tilford agreed to a 2-year agreement with the Bighorns, providing the team with a big-play offensive threat in preparation for the 2023 season.

The prep 4-star recruit from Colony High School in Ontario, California, signed initially with Arizona, becoming a productive member of the Wildcat's offense for three seasons. As a freshman, Tilford played in 10 of 13 games as a reserve running back or special teams' contributor. He posted an impressive 9.3 yards per carry while gaining 121 yards on 13 carries and scored twice as a freshman. Tilford would see a limited role as a sophomore and redshirt but would respond with a solid junior season, appearing in 10 games with 37 carries for 228 yards and four touchdowns. Tilford would transfer to UTPB following his junior season and have his best collegiate season for the Falcons, leading the team in rushing with 536 yards while scoring twice on the ground. However, injuries would slow Tilford's redshirt senior season in 2022.

In Tilford, the Bighorns gain a big-play threat with big-league size, as Tilford comes in at a solid 6-foot 2-inches at 200-pounds and has experience competing at college football's highest level. At the same time, Tilford hopes for a solid season in spring football's premier league.

The Bighorns will kick off the 2023 spring season Saturday, April 1st, on the road against fellow Western Conference member in, the Oklahoma City Wranglers. Bighorn season tickets are now available online at houstonbighorns.com.
